About Alumni Association

Established in 2000, JICA Alumni Association of Bhutan (JAAB) is a non governmental organization aimed at promoting Bhutan-Japan friendship and to express gratitude to the Japanese government for its assistance for Bhutan’s socioeconomic development. Members of JAAB are Bhutanese who have availed their studies or trainings in Japan, those who share common interests for the promotion of friendship and understanding between the people of Bhutan and Japan. All JICA participants are requested to join the association upon their completion of JICA sponsored training. JAAB has been allotted a small room in the JICA office (Tel: 333268) to facilitate its activities. Over years, JAAB has carried out impressive activities like Social Forestry day Celebration in Thimphu, Cultural Exchange Tour to Gasa Tsachu, New Year celebrations, etc. JAAB has presently 61 members under the presidentship of Dr. Gado Tshering, Director Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health.
