Emergency Assistance to Viet Nam in Response to the TyphoonDisaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the damages caused by Typhoon Linfa upon the request from the Government of Viet Nam.

1. Disaster situation
Typhoon”Linfa”, which landed around on12th.October, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to Viet Nam Government, the damage situation as of 14th.Oct was as follows:
Deaths 40 people
Missing 8 people
Evacuees 21,785 Family/66,569 people
Collapsed houses 585 Houses
Damaged houses 135,731 Houses

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Plastic sheets
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Da Nang on the next available flight.
