Emergency Assistance to Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Response to Flood

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the Flood disaster, upon the request from the Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

1. Disaster situation
The flood, which occurred around Mid-June, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to Government of Pakistan, the damage situation as of August 29 was as follows:

Deaths 1,033
Injured 1,527
Evacuees 498,442
Collapsed houses 287,412
Damaged houses 949,858
Affected 5,773,063



2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Tents
Plastic sheet

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Karachi on the next available flight.
