Video Conference between Kyrgyz people and Japanese with impaired hearing abilities
Kyrgyzstan gained its independence in 1991 after the collapse of the former Soviet Union and quickly made the transition to a market economy. In 1998, it gained entry into the WTO and it has continued to pursue many reforms. However, scarce natural resources and an unfavorable topography have impeded progress; and the economy remains unstable.
Known as “the Switzerland of Central Asia”, it has utilized its scenic resources, a climate ideally suited for agricultural and livestock production, and a highly educated labor force to its advantage to establish key industries and to attract foreign capital.
The objective of the Kyrgyz Republic-Japan Center is to offer Japan’s knowledge and experience in business management as a nation with scarce natural resources that also faced similar disadvantages like Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyz Republic-Japan Center was open in June 2002 at Bishkek.
