The Mongolia-Japan Center for Human Resources Development

Mongolia was the second oldest socialist country in the world the after the former Soviet Union. But, as of 1990, the country made the transition to a market economy.

Formerly part of the USSR, the socialist industrial framework was established within the country’s economic system; and compounded by the large-scale assistance received in the past, the economy was greatly affected by the collapse of the old system.

Presently, it is striving to foster human resources capable of coping with the country’s rapid shift to a market economy.

Mongolia Japan Center was open in June 2002 at UlanBator.
