The GDN Annual Global Development Conference is held once a year with the participation of worldwide researchers, policy makers, and representatives of donor organizations. The main component of the Conference is the Plenary Sessions, in which invited experts present and discuss issues on the sub-themes of the Conference. The Conference also consists of sub-sessions ("Parallel Sessions"), presentations of the Global Development Award and Medals Winners, and pre and post Conference Workshops on the GDN Global Research Project, which bring together hundreds of participants from around the world, making the discussions very active.
The Twelfth Global Development Conference was held in Bogota from January 13 to 15, 2011,entitled "Financing Development in a Post-Crisis World: The Need For a Fresh Look".
