1961	Establishment of The Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund(OECF) of Japan, the former organization of JBIC
1962	Establishment of the Overseas Technical Cooperation Agency (OTCA), the former organization of JICA
1963	Commencement of Training program in Japan
1964	Commencement of dispatch of Japanese Expert dispatch to Kenya
1966	Conclusion of Exchange of Notes between the Government of Japan and the Government of Kenya concerning the dispatch of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) Commencement of dispatch of JOCV to Kenya
1969	Establishment of an overseas branch office of the OTCA in Kenya
1971	Conclusion of Exchange of Notes between the Government of Japan and the Government of Kenya concerning Technical Cooperation and OTCA Nairobi office was established.
1973	The First Japanese ODA Loan to Kenya
1974	OTCA renamed into Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) OTCA Nairobi office was renamed as JICA Nairobi Office (Later renamed as JICA Kenya Office)
1975	Establishment of a representative office of the OECF in Nairobi
1987	Management of Activities in Uganda, Seyshell, Somalia from Kenya (Later, Rwanda and Burundi were added)
1999	OECF renamed into Japan Bank for International Cooperation. OECF Nairobi Office was renamed as JBIC Nairobi Office. Conclusion of Exchange of Notes between the Government of Japan and the Government of Uganda concerning the dispatch of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers
2001	Establishment of a JOCV Coordination Office of the JICA in Uganda (Apr.) Commencement of dispatch of JOCV to Uganda (Jul.)
2002	Management of Activities in Eritrea from Kenya (Aug.) (Management of Activities in Somalia goes to Ethiopia Office)
2003	JICA re-launched as an independent administrative institution (Oct.) Commencement of dispatch of Senior Volunteer to Kenya (Nov.)
2004	Resumption of dispatch of Japanese Expert to Eritrea (Mar.) Conclusion of Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of Kenya (Apr.)
