
JICA Alumni Association was formed in Myanmar under the umbrella of the Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) in May 2003 by the nine enthusiastic JICA ex-participants in purpose to promote relationship between 2 nations and socio-economic development in Myanmar.

Since 2007 JICA Alumni Association has been reformed as an active organization under the leadership of 15 Executive members with 435 registered members. It has conducted annual general assembly meeting, filed-wise seminars, donation ceremonies, tree-planting activities etc. Newsletter to update information of events and activities of the association and JICA is issued quarterly to serve as a communication tool among all members and JICA Myanmar office.

In 2008, around $700 has been collected through fund raising activities of the Association to support vulnerable people. The fund was donated to a vocational training center for women and a school for disabled children. The alumni members’ commitment to contribute to social development in Myanmar is mounting.
