Activities in Tanzania

Training and Dialogue Programs

JICA's Training and Dialogue Programs are one of JICA's major activities in Japan. Government officials and people from different fields from developing countries come to Japan to participate in the programs with the cooperation of partner organizations and communities in Japan.

To date, over 290,000 people have participated in these programs and the participants have met numerous Japanese people during their stays in Japan and have returned home with a deeper understanding and familiarity with Japan by learning Japanese culture.

Implementation of training programs in Japan has significance with regards to utilizing Japan's development experience and know-how, rather than only sharing Japan's advanced technologies and skills.

Over 3,500 Tanzanians have visited Japan and around 100 yearly continuously is participating in this programs.

JATA - JICA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF TANZANIA

JATA was formulated in 1974 was formulated by the ex-participants of JICA's training programs. JATA organize activities which brought together members of different fields with close collaboration with JICA Tanzania office. Some of the activities are Essay Competition to students, organizing Workshops/Seminars, visiting JICA project and publishing Newsletters.
