- Categorizing solid waste
(Vanuatu Daily Post (PDF/350KB), June 3, 2011) - As part of JICA’s technical cooperation "The Project for Promotion of Regional Initiative Solid Waste Management (J-PRISM)" to develop the capacity of national personal responsible for solid waste management in 14 Pacific Island Countries, training was held in Port Vila with a JICA regional waste management expert. Waste management is a common issue for developing Pacific Island Countries whose land masses are narrow and population is concentrated in urban areas.
- JICA lavishes TAFEA Fisheries with cooling equipments
(Vanuatu Daily Post (PDF/109KB), January 28, 2010) - A new set of refrigeration equipment granted by JICA is expected to boost the operational capacity of the Tafea Fisheries Market, which has been losing one-third of the fishermen’s catch due to the lack of cooling equipment.
