The JICA Alumni Sub- Association of Vietnam (JICA- ASAV) is a voluntary organization of those who are former participants of training courses, seminars or workshops conducted by JICA. The Sub-Association was established on 15 December 2003 in Hanoi. At the Ceremony, a Steering Committee including 7 members ranking directors and vice directors of related ministries and branches were voted. As of March 2008, there were 1,360 members in JICA-ASAV. The Sub- Association works under the umbrella of the Vietnam- Japan Friendship Association.

Activities:

  1. To organize symposiums, seminars for members
  2. To support and organize the dissemination of knowledge obtained through  JICA training courses
  3. To provide necessary information on Japan and JICA training courses
  4. To support activities with a view to promoting Vietnam’s image in Japan and vice versa
  5. To update members with information about Japan- Vietnam cooperation relations and activities in the future
  6. To maintain the relations among members of the Sub-Association and with JICA as well

The Vietnam Alumni Club of Youth Friendship Program (VACYF) was established in 2002 at Hanoi with an aim to strengthen the friendship and cooperation relationship among Vietnamese youths and those of other countries for the sake of peace, independence, and equality. Members of VACYF are ex-participants of the Training Program for Young Leaders (the Japan - ASEAN Youth Friendship Program formerly) over the past years from all provinces/cities in Vietnam. The VACYF has a Coordination Board managing the activities of the club nationwide. As of the end of year 2007, there were 1,115 members in VACYF.

Activities:

  1. To keep in touch with and organize exchange activities for members;
  2. To support and improve the quality of the Japan- ASEAN Youth Friendship Program;
  3. To maintain the cooperation relations with Japan's and ASEAN's alumni organizations;
  4. To organize and take part in friendship exchange activities among ex-participants of Vietnam, Japan and ASEAN countries;
  5. To exchange and share information with fresh participants of the Japan- ASEAN Youth Friendship Program
