- The section from Cau Duong (Hanoi) to Thai Nguyen City on National Highway 3 is one of the roads where many traffic accidents occur caused by a lack of traffic safety system. "The Northern Vietnam National Road Traffic Safety Improvement Project" carried out with ODA provided by the Japanese Government will improve the road infrastructure of four national highways in the northern region. The project is also expected to improve traffic safety through civil works, installation of traffic lights and signals, improvement of traffic enforcement, traffic safety education and awareness to local residents and road users.

- Building New Rural Areas from "One Village - One Product" Movement

- "One Village - One Product" movement (OVOP), which promotes the development of rural areas through the production and distribution of products made from local materials, has originated in Oita prefecture and been applied to communities in various countries. There are over 2,700 craft villages all around Viet Nam. In order to generate competitiveness in the domestic and world market, the development of craft villages is placed as one of the objectives of the National Program on Building of New Rural Areas.

- Opportunities for Tourism Development in Ancient Duong Lam Village

- Located about 60 km from center of Hanoi, ancient Duong Lam village still maintains many ancient houses and scenery, and was recognized as a national architectural relic 5 years ago. JICA has been supporting the renovation of historic buildings of Duong Lam village and sustainable tourism development to promote economic development through a project entitled “Boosting Development of Sustainable Self-reliant Community via Heritage Tourism".
