Emergency Assistance to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Response to the Flood Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to a request from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran relating to the Flood Disaster.

1.Disaster situation
The flood which occurred around the middle of March has caused serious human and property damage. According to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the damage situation as of April 1 was as follows:

Deaths: 47
Injured: 265
Affected: 156,531
Evacuees: 50,732
Damaged houses: 85,000

2.Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from JICA warehouse in Singapore to Tehran on the next available flight.
