JICA-MRMO to hold the second national webinar on "Sustainable Waste management"

The second webinar on "Sustainable Waste management" concentrating on "Organic Waste" was held on September 8, 2021 as part of mutual programs between Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA, and Municipalities and Rural Management Organization, MRMO, of Islamic Republic of Iran.

A full day webinar covered critical environmental issues related to the Solid Waste Management and Organic Waste Issues, focusing on the existing situation of two main Caspian Sea coastal cities of Nowshahr and Rasht.

In addition, Japanese lecturers presented the latest development about "Current status of composting in Japan and new initiatives" and "Experiences on biogas production in Japan and challenges".

More than 130 participants from different municipalities of the Iranian cities attended the webinar, who raised their question, asked for more details about Japanese expertise for dealing with "Organic Waste", and associated subjects.

The webinar concluded by Dr. Yoshida, senior advisor to JICA, who summarized the development needs of Iranian cities located in the coastal areas of Caspian Sea based on their existing situation.
