JICA President Tanaka held talks with Deputy Prime Minister Abdukhakimov of Uzbekistan

On September 21, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov at JICA headquarters.

In his opening remarks, President Tanaka welcomed the progress being made on the cooperation between the two countries in the areas of tourism and higher education under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Mr. Abdukhakimov then thanked JICA for their cooperation thus far. He expressed gratitude for their assistance at Tourism Expo Japan, held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 22 to September 25, in which a joint exhibition by five Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan) was able to be displayed for the first time. Furthermore, the two parties exchanged views on deepening cooperation in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan moving forward.
