On October 25th, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire inAbidjan, to provide grant aid of up to 4.163 billion yen for the Project for the Development of the University Hospital Center of Cocody for the Improvement of Maternal and Child Health Care Services in Greater Abidjan.
Under this project, maternal and child health care services will be improved through the construction of an annex which specializes in maternal and child health care and will provide necessary medical equipment to University Hospital Center of Cocody, which is located in the greater Abidjan area. It is expected that this project will enable the University Hospital Center of Cocody to play a leading role in healthcare facilities and improve the quality of maternal and child health care services in Cote d’Ivoire.
For the detailed design of the project, JICA has already signed a grant agreement to provide grant aid of up to 126 million yen in March 2019.
