On March 2, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of the Republic of Fiji in Suva to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 10 billion yen for the COVID-19 Crisis Response Emergency Support Loan.
The objective of the program loan is to contribute to social and economic stability in Fiji that COVID-19 has negatively affected, by providing financial support to implement economic and fiscal countermeasures in order to improve public financial management, and the policy, legal and institutional framework and business/investment climate of Fiji, by co-financing with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This program loan will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goals 1, 8 and 10.
