Project Summary
Objective:
- to develop capacities of research and investigation for storm surges and flood hazard mapping, river channel stabilization and evacuation system considering the effect of sea-level rise with the aide of high-resolution elevation data of embankments and floodplains
- to develop technologies and measures to prevent and mitigate disaster losses from floods and storm surges
The disaster management strategy is strengthened in order to establish the resilient local society against a storm surge and flood disaster.
Outputs:
- The risk communication capacity of counterpart and related organizations is improved through elaboration of flood hazard maps and others.
- The risk communication capacity of counterpart and related organizations is improved through elaboration of flood hazard maps and others.
- The countermeasure abilities for loss of land and break of levees by bank erosion are improved.
- The mitigation countermeasures against the transport of deposited toxic substances after flood with social acceptability which are technically, economically feasible are developed.
- The training program regarding to disaster management strategy for resilient society is developed, disseminated, evaluated and published
