e-ASIA is the biggest ICT conference annually held in different countries of Asia. Seminars and exhibition on e-governance, ICT & education, health, agriculture etc. are the main themes of the events of this occasion. This year, the 5th e-ASIA conference was held in Bangladesh from December 1 to 3 where many ICT related people not only from Asia, but also from different European and American countries gathered.
As JICA, we planned seminars by prominent Japanese companies like NEC, NTT Communications, SONY etc during its seminar sessions. Our senior volunteer, Mr. Toshiaki Kohno, who is stationed at BCC which is also the host organizer of the e-ASIA 2011 in Bangladesh has coordinated with the above Japanese companies and together with him we successfully opened Japan Country Pavilion for the first time in the history of e-ASIA and thus contributed to the huge success of it. Every day, our Japan related seminars and the Japan Country Pavilion attracted huge number of spectators which again assured us about the great expectations of the Bangladeshi people towards Japanese ICT technology.
We will try to strengthen the relationship with private companies further and help Bangladesh overcome its problems in developing its ICT sector.
