Seminar on "Enhancing Revitalization of Rural Communities"

JICA Bhutan Office in collaboration with the Department of Human Settlement organized a seminar on "Enhancing Revitalization of Rural Communities" on 26 November 2018. The Hon'ble Minister of the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement was the Chief Guest for the event along with the several members of the parliament.

The seminar focused on sharing of the experience and learning by ex-participants of JICA's Knowledge Co-Creation Programme towards successful revitalization of smaller towns in Japan to curb the rural urban migration.

Some of the ex-participants also shared the progress of interventions they had already initiated in their respective work place towards community revitalization taking lessons learnt from the examples in Japan.

Following the seminar, a panel discussion was held to discuss on the various initiatives towards revitalization of the rural communities in Bhutan including the development of the Comprehensive Development Plan for Bhutan 2030.
