On April 28th, JICA Bhutan Office and the Ministry of Health agreed and signed on Minutes of Discussions on the Preparatory Survey for the Project for Construction of Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases (RCID).
The objective of the Project is to improve quality of treatment for serious infectious diseases, to prevent spread of infection appropriately and to establish a centre for developing human resources with knowledge of infectious diseases control by construction of a state-of-the-art "Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases" (RCID) and procuring medical equipment. Therefore, it will help in contributing to strengthen infectious diseases control in Bhutan.
The RCID will be a state-of-the-art facility which provides three major functions:
It is JICA's hope that this facility will serve the Bhutanese people get better health services and cooperate MoH in realizing its Vision "A Nation with the Best Health". The project would officially start after formal approval by the government of Japan.
