Volunteer activity in Oodi

I am Hashimoto, a carpentry instructor from Japan International Cooperation Agency. I would like to introduce my activity and life in Oodi.

I was dispatched to Furniture Design and Manufacturing in Oodi College of Applied Arts and Technology which has professional classes in music, art, jewelry, physical education, PC, and so on.

I was conducting lectures and maintenance of equipment in Furniture Design and Manufacturing class with four great faculty members. I was engaged for only two months due to the sudden evacuation to Japan because of COVID-19 global pandemic. During that time, I had only conducted fixing and maintenance for this period and its activities had been starting to take shape. However, I strongly hope to go back to Botswana and continue my volunteer activities.

I lived in faculty housing in the college area like others. Sometimes they served me the Botswana traditional food, while I also shared with them Japanese traditional food and drinks. Those were such lovely times. We used to play tennis with other guys after school. This was also such good TIMES.

I miss you all. I will not give up my return to Botswana as JOCV member. I am honestly preparing myself for my return to Botswana and I am looking forward local cuisine, braai and black label.

Even though I do not know when I will come back, I am looking forward to seeing you and grabbing a beer together again.
