Life as JICA's expert in Cambodia

Mr. MATSUO Takamitsu, Chief Advisor for the River Basin Water Resources Utilization Project (RBWRU), who just completed his assignment in middle of May 2019, had spent 2 years and 11 months working in Cambodia. His task as an Expert is to formulate "River Basin Management Committee (RBMC)" for the people living in a river basin in order to let them use water resources fairly and effectively. He worked with mainly counterparts in Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology. "It was difficult for them to understand what they did in the early stage of the Project. However, they were able to know the importance of RBMC at the end through working together with Japanese experts". He think RBMC is relatively new concept in this country. In collaboration with JICA Cambodia office, an education video was created. Please have access to the following URL. We are pleased if you can watch it.

During his assignment in Cambodia, he has enjoyed life for working, learning Cambodian culture and people's life, and tasting Khmer foods. His most favorite Khmer food is "Beef Lok Lak".
