Activities and impression of JICA's expert in Cambodia

Prof. Takayoshi Shiota, a short-term expert of TVET Project, started his work in Cambodia from September 30 to November 02, 2019. He graduated from Polytechnic University majoring in Electronics Information Technology, Japan.

Prof. Shiota has been conducting his lecture and sharing his skilled profession on Electronic Circuit Design and Assembly for Cambodian instructors and counterpart members from National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC), National Technical Training Institute (NTTI), and Preah Kossomak Polytechnic Institute (PPI) in order to strengthen and upgrade their knowledge and skills.

Prof. Shiota said that "I feel comfortable to stay in Cambodia better than imagined before my departure from Japan. Everyone is kind to me, and Khmer food is delicious. I was so surprised that people are using smart phones with various tuktuk apps. Very interesting country for preserving original cultures such as Pagodas and Royal Palace."

All the trainees are learning with keen interest with comprehensive ability. By connecting what they "know" with what they "can do" bring "Aha! Moments" to deepen their understanding levels. This leads to detect errors and improve/solve problem skills. I'll be very happy if they can gain such power through my training."
