Paving the Way for More Accessible Quality Health Care for Many
–Handover Ceremony of Japanese Grant Aid Project on April 30–

Handover Ceremony of Japanese Grant Aid Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment in National, Municipal and Provincial Referral Hospitals in Cambodia will be organized on April 30, 2013 at 2:00 – 3:30 PM at Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital (Bayon Meeting Room). The ceremony is organized by the Ministry of Health and will be presided over by H.E. Dr. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Ministry of Health, and H.E. Yuji Kumamaru, the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Government of Japan will provide three types of medical equipment - X-ray Machine, Ultrasound, and Patient Monitoring System- to the Ministry of Health of the Government of Cambodia, based on the Grant Agreement signed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance on March 29, 2012. The equipment will be provided to the four target national hospitals and 17 provincial hospitals (CPA3 level), aiming at improving the quality of health care services and accessibility for the local Cambodians across the country.

The total amount of the grant is 214.3 million JPY, approximately 2.697 million USD. The ceremony will be participated by Provincial Health Departments, Provincial Hospitals, Ministry of Health, JICA Cambodia Office, and the Embassy of Japan.
