JICA-UNDP collaboration enables young people to learn KAIZEN methods in the Far North region of Cameroon

UNDP provided three days training to thirty young people at Kousseri in the Far North region, which is the most suffered area by the poverty and the attacks by the Boko Haram in Cameroon. They learned about KAIZEN methods such as 5S approach, marketing and accounting from Cameroonian KAIZEN consultants trained by JICA's Technical Cooperation Project "KAIZEN". These KAIZEN training contents have been promoted through JICA KAIZEN Project since 2015.

Although some of the participants had undergo incidents such as a robbery of his vehicle by the Boko Haram, serious attitudes among participants indicated high demand of learning for business start-up.

JICA supported Government of Cameroon to implement Project on Quality and Productivity Improvement (KAIZEN) for SMEs from September 2015 to September 2017. JICA will further work closely with Government of Cameroon to disseminate KAIZEN methods in collaborating with other donors.
