The Government of japan contributes to the relief efforts of cyclone Sagar in Djibouti, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

An official handover ceremony of the materials was held on Thursday 24th May 2018 in the presence of Secretary State for Social Affaires her excellency Mouna Osman Aden, the Japan Ambassador to Djibouti, His excellency Mr. Koji Yonetani and the resident representative of JICA Djibouti, Mr. Toru Togawa.

In his Speech, the japan ambassador recalls the support of the Djibouti government during the disastrous tsunami of March 2011 in Japan, and also mentions that the relationship of trust and solidarity between the two countries allowed the rapid response to the victims.

The Secretary of State for Social Affaires thanked the government of Japan for the rapid assistance to populations affected by the cyclone Sagar.

The materials will be distributed to these victims promptly.
