The send-off ceremonies for the 1st batch of the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)

For the Japan Grant Aid Program, the Project for Human Resources Development Scholarship (JDS), signed in Timor-Leste in 2018, the send-off party for eight (8) qualified young government officials was held on August 8th by Embassy of Japan. The Ambassador sent warm encouragement, the Timor-Leste government expressed appreciation and expectations for the JDS project, and 8 grantees expressed their determination to study in Japan.

On August 15th, the swearing and signing ceremony was held by the government of Timor-Leste. 8 grantees swore their decision to acquire a lot of knowledge and experience while studying in Japan for two years and the intention to contribute to the development of Timor-Leste after returning home in front of the stakeholders and their families in Timor-Leste.

Eight grantees departing this time are the first batch in JDS program in Timor-Leste. The recruitment of second batch has started, and there is great interest and expectation for the future activities of the first-batch.
