MDGs Follow-Up Meeting in Tokyo

A ministerial meeting will be held June 2-3 in Tokyo to discuss ways to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015 set to help developing countries.

The meeting, hosted by Japanese government together with UN organizations and Japan’s major development agency JICA, will review the outcome of the MDG summit in 2010 to work out concrete and effective actions strengthening cooperation among the partners.

Participants will include ministers and senior officials from countries around the world, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and private and academic sectors.

JICA strongly supports the international commitment through its daily projects in such fields as agriculture, education, healthcare and environment.
