JICA will provide emergency supplies to Croatia in response to damage caused by floods, after receiving a request from the Croatian government.

Floods caused by the torrential rain in the Republic of Croatia resulted in significant human and material damage in the affected areas up to now.

According to the government of Croatia, the victims as of June 5 include 17,631 people evacuated, and 4,367 homes were collapsed.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency supplies including 35 tents, 120 blankets, 120 sleeping pads, five water tanks and 25 generators with cord reels with a total value of approximately US$110,000.

Arrangement is being made to send the supplies by land.
