Following a decision by the Government of Japan, JICA has dispatched two experts in response to the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa.
The two experts from National Institute of Infectious Diseases have left for Sierra Leone on Oct. 20, where they plan to participate in the World Health Organization’s mission in response to the Ebola outbreak.
The Government of Japan is continuing its talks with the WHO with regard to dispatching additional Japanese experts to Ebola-affected countries. JICA plans to send experts to those countries based on the decision by the Government of Japan.
