The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency supplies to the Republic of Albania, in response to damage caused by flooding, at the request of the Government of Albania.
Torrential rains in southern Albania that occurred Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 caused massive flooding. This flooding has been causing extensive human and material damage.
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, one person has been killed and 8,000 are in need of assistance.
JICA will deliver 510 blankets and 510 sleeping pads, with a total value of approximately US$50,000 .
The supplies will be delivered to Tirana using the earliest available flight.
