Emergency Assistance to Mozambique in Response to the Cyclone Damage

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the request from the Government of the Republic of Mozambique on the recent Cyclone Dieno.

1. Disaster situation
The Cyclone Dineo, which struck the country on February 16, caused serious human and property damages. According to the National Institute of Calamities Management (INGC), the damage situation as of February 22 was as follows:

Deaths 7
Injured 55
Affected 653,000 (approximately)

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods from the JICA warehouse in Dubai;

Plastic sheets
Portable jerry cans

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai on the next available flight.
