JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka met with Alpha Condé, the president of Guinea, on June 21 in Tokyo.
Mr. Kitaoka began the talks by expressing his respect for the role played by Guinea as the country chairing the African Union. When Mr. Kitaoka said a decision had been made to open a JICA office in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, Mr. Condé said he is grateful for JICA's cooperation and strongly expects future cooperation. The two men then discussed the outcome of past projects and the cooperation policy.
JICA plans to continue providing cooperation to Guinea in a wide variety of sectors including human resources development, infrastructure and fishery.
