Emergency Assistance to Mozambique in response to the Torrential Rainfall Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the request from the Government of the Republic of Mozambique regarding the damage caused by the heavy rainfall.
1. Disaster situation

The Torrential Rainfall, which happened on January 13, has caused serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Mozambique, the damage situation as of January 30 was as follows:
Deaths 11
Affected people 80,370
Collapsed houses 5,939
Damaged houses 8,917

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA Dubai warehouse)
Sleeping pads
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Maputo.
