Emergency Assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Response to the Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to a request from the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo relating to the Ebola virus disease outbreak.

1. Disaster situation
The Ebola virus disease outbreak, which was declared by the Ministry of Health on August 1, 2018, has been causing serious human damage. According to National Committee for Coordination (CNC), situation of the outbreak as of August 25, 2018 was as follows:
Deaths 72 (out of 40 were confirmed)
Confirmed cases 83
Suspected cases 9
Follow-up cases around 1,900

2. Goods supplied
Necessary goods for surveillance, points of entry (PoEs), and laboratory diagnostics
