Emergency Assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Response to the Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak in the eastern part of the country

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to a request from the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo relating to the Ebola virus disease outbreak in the eastern part of the country.

1. Disaster situation
The Ebola virus disease outbreak was declared by the Ministry of Health on August 1, 2018. The Ministry has been strengthening measures to the outbreak. According to National Committee for Coordination (CNC), situation of the outbreak as of July 24, 2019 was as follows:
Deaths 1,743
Confirmed cases 2,592
Suspected cases 272
