Emergency Assistance for Amazon rainforest fires in Plurinational State of Bolivia

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to a request from the Government of Plurinational State of Bolivia relating to Amazon rainforest fires.

1. Disaster situation
Amazon rainforest fires, which happened since around July 20th, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Plurinational State of Bolivia, the damage situation as of September 4th was as follows:
Deaths 2
The number of fires 768
Affected family 1,817
Affected forest area 713,137ha

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods
Personal Protective Equipment for firefighting
Sanitary and medical supplies

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be purchased at Plurinational State of Bolivia
