JICA President Kitaoka held talks with Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev

On Dec. 19, JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka met with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the State Guest House of Akasaka Palace.

At the outset of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev conveyed his gratitude for JICA's cooperation in Uzbekistan and expressed his expectations for further development of human resources in various fields, as well as his willingness to advance economic reform through the promotion of investment from Japan. In response, President Kitaoka touched upon the cultural ties and active people-to-people exchanges between the two countries through the Silk Road and stated that he would like to encourage economic reform and development in the country. It includes cooperation in the areas of human resources development through international student exchange programs and infrastructure development utilizing Japan's experience.

JICA continues to promote economic growth and social development in Uzbekistan through multifaceted cooperation that combines human resources development and infrastructure development.
