On July 19, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in La Paz to provide grant aid of up to 1.698 billion yen for the Project for Road Disaster Prevention of National Road No. 7.
Under the project, slope protection and mudflow prevention measures will be carried out on National Road No. 7, a key trunk road connecting the western and eastern parts of Bolivia. It is expected that the project will mitigate disruptions to transportation during natural disasters and contribute to efficient goods distribution on National Road No. 7.
For the detailed design work of the project, JICA signed a grant agreement in September 2015 to provide grant aid of up to 50 million yen.
