On August 7, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement with the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Kinshasa to provide grant aid of up to 1.062 billion yen for the Project for Improvement of Road Maintenance Equipment in Kinshasa City.
The aim of the project is to improve road maintenance conditions in Kinshasa through the provision of road maintenance equipment to the public corporations in charge of road maintenance. This initiative is expected to improve the efficiency of the transportation network and the access to social services in Kinshasha.
