Signing of Japanese ODA Loan Agreement with Iraq: Improving the water supply quality and coverage through water treatment facilities improvements

On September 15, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of the Republic of Iraq in Baghdad to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 2.463 billion yen for the Water Supply Improvement Project in Kurdistan Region (II).

The objective of the project is to improve the quantity and quality of the water supply in Sulaymania, Erbil and Duhok Governorates of the Kurdistan Region through improvements to water supply facilities such as water intake facilities, water treatment plants, the transmission and distribution network and other related facilities.
