Signing of Record of Discussions on Technical Cooperation Project with Kyrgyz: Support for development of a national conformity assessment system to ensure the quality and safety of dairy products

On October 9, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Government of the Republic of Kyrgyz in Bishkek for the Project for Improvement of Human Resources in Food Laboratories for Improvement of Quality of Milk and Dairy Products, a technical cooperation project.

The project aims to establish a national conformity assessment system for certifying the safety of raw milk and the quality and safety of dairy products at the three central food inspection laboratories of Kyrgyzstan and regional inspection laboratories under their umbrella. By developing a system to assess the quality and safety compliance of dairy products on the value chain to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) technical regulations, the project will contribute to an increase in the volume of Kyrgyz dairy products with assured quality and safety circulating in the EAEU.
