On October 18, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Abuja, the capital city, for the Project on Capacity Development for Nutrition Improvement in Federal Capital Territory, a technical cooperation project.
The project aims to develop an approach to effectively improve dietary nutrition and to strengthen a multi-sectoral structure of the FCTA to implement the approach. Nigeria is one of the participating countries of the “Initiative for Food and Nutrition Security in Africa” (IFNA) launched by JICA at the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-VI) in 2016, and the project is the first IFNA project by JICA.
