Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) dispatched a Damage & Needs Survey Mission on the Earthquake in central Sulawesi province in the Republic of Indonesia

In response to the earthquake and tsunami that occurred at 17:02 (local time) on September 28 in central Sulawesi province in the Republic of Indonesia, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) dispatched a Damage & Needs Survey Mission from October 15 to 23, based on the request by the Government of Indonesia.

In the capital city Jakarta, the Mission held consultations with the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS) and other related ministries and government bodies, and at the afflicted areas in central Sulawesi province, the Mission conducted consultations with local governments and on-site surveys.

JICA plans to leverage the Japanese knowledge and would like to support formulation of the basic reconstruction plan by the Indonesian government.
