The Third Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting for the NBSSI/JICA project for Formulating a Strategic Model for Quality and Productivity Improvement through Strengthening Business Development Service (BDS) for Micro and Small Enterprise (MSEs) was held at Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Accra on the 29th of May 2013.
The main participants present at the meeting included: Mr.Andrew Frimpong representative from PSDSⅡ as Chairperson, Assistant Coordinator of PSDS, Mr.D. Baeka, Deputy Executive Director, NBSSI, and Mr.Saeed Owusu-Brobbey, Regional Manager, NBSSI.
The report of Mr.Benson Adjei from the NBSSI, who participated in the Business Development training in Japan on March 2013 presented his report, Mr. Frimpong who also attended another training program on Industrial Development Service in Fukushima, also presented his report. They mentioned that they acquired immense knowledge through these training programs and they shared some of these rich experiences with participants.
The project progress report NO.2 was discussed. In addition to that, the current KAIZEN OJT which had been conducted to strengthen the capacity of BAC Heads in the Ashanti Region as part of the consultation process for MSEs (Micro and Small Enterprises) was shared by BDS project team members.
The objective of the project is to develop a strategic BDS model for MSEs in the Ghanaian context that can be replicated in other regions all over Ghana. Mr.Saeed, Regional Manager of NBSSI Ashanti, emphasized the strong commitment to the sustainability of the project outcome and their budget allocation.
