Signing of Record of Discussion for the Republic of Indonesia: Contributing to improving the effectiveness of the roadmap for promoting the automobile industry toward 2035

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed Record of Discussions (R/D) for a technical cooperation project "The Project for Automotive Industry Development" with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on December 1, 2021.

This project targets the Indonesian automobile industry and supporting industries in order to improve the effectiveness of the action plan proposed in the "2035 Automotive Industry Promotion Roadmap" announced by the Indonesian government in 2018. The project will carry out pilot activities in areas such as promotion of utilization of digital technology and Research, Development and Design (R&D&D) by companies. These pilots are aimed in supporting the implementation of the action plan of the roadmap. Positioned as a concrete project that contributes to the "support for improving international competitiveness" of the Japanese government's Country Assistance Policy for the Republic of Indonesia, this project aims to contribute in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
