JICA Day - an Exhibition of JICA’s Activities in JAMAICA

JICA Day was celebrated on November 4, 2011 in Kingston. The event was held at the Girl Guides Association in Jamaica and an exhibition was mounted by JICA/JOCV Jamaica Office.

The overall event was organized by the JICA Alumni Association in Jamaica as one of its main activities during FY2011. The JAAJ also encourages Cultural Exchange every year on Japanese Culture Day.

photoJICA Volunteers have been dispatched to Jamaica since 1989 and the exhibition showed the various activities the volunteers have been involved in. They have served in several Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Government of Jamaica.

photoMr. Akira Tonouchi, JICA Senior Volunteer assigned to the Jamaica Productivity Centre, Ministry of Labour & Social Security, has contributed significantly to the improvement of productivity at the JPC.
