New exhibition and audio visual equipment were donated The Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) by JICA Jamaica. At the Handing Over Ceremony held on 12th July 2017.
This project involves upgrading the Multimedia Production Studio, the permanent gallery of the Natural History Museum of Jamaica and audio-visual equipment of the lecture hall. The project was organized by The Institute of Jamaica and The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport. It also has a mobile outreach exhibition, as well as a computer lab and youth center to enhance local educational activities. The importance of culture and natural heritage and the necessity of its protection are highlighted in the Jamaica's national development plan "Vision 2010 Jamaica". JICA Jamaica would like to assist in raising awareness of culture and natural heritage, children and youth development and promoting social activities of the Jamaican populace.
Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson-Smith, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade was present. You will also find photos of the upgraded facilities and local drummers who performed at the ceremony. You can experience it all at IOJ's lecture hall, computer lab, and mobile exhibitions.
