The JICA Project supports the community based organizations (jamaats) organized on the basis of forestry enterprises in establishment of business with processed forest product that meets food safety requirements.
The Tokoy TOO Ak-Suu jamaat was established on the basis of Ak-Suu forestry enterprise and started processing non-timber forest products, including fruits and berries. In response to Ak-Suu forestry enterprise request, JICA Project provided technical advice and conducted trainings to the members of jamaat on processing, food safety, marketing and business management.
At present the jamaat produces the sample jam products from pine cones, berries and fruits and plans to start selling them after obtaining the certificates and declaration of conformity to the food safety requirements of Eurasian Economic Union.
